This publication is the result of the project “Contributing to the Consolidation of Capacities and R & D & I Management of the Colombian Electricity Sector”, in its component “Structuring of the UIET Strategic Technological Intelligence Unit”, carried out by CIDET, with the advice strategy of the Universidad del Rosario through Doctor Leonardo Pineda, additionally with the advice and support of the Universidad del Valle with the Prospective Institute.
The creation and formation of the Strategic Intelligence Unit
Technological (hereinafter UIET) of the Electricity Sector, will be led by CIDET, in response to the need to establish a comprehensive system that allows generating knowledge with high added value applied to research and technological development, thus responding to sectoral dynamics for the promotion of innovation, in addition to increasing competitiveness and productivity, as can be seen in the Productive Transformation Program of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
Therefore, the UIET has as its axis the electricity sector and is conceived as an instance that supports decision-making in investment, research, innovation, technological development and technological infrastructure, based on knowledge, to become an international benchmark that I can provide
quality, accurate and timely information.
CIDET, due to its missionary essence, is the call to lead the operation of the UIET, given that its function is clearly focused on promoting applied research and development to increase the sector’s competitiveness. In this sense, the UIET will be a consultative, advisory and information provider body for companies in the sector.
It is hoped, then, that this publication will serve as a guide for organizations and institutions in the sector to generate tools and inputs in decision-making based on the Technological Surveillance studies. Competitive intelligence and Prospective, considering that these are of high national impact and have an interest in various companies from all links of the chain
productive.
