This research result book is a complete scientometric review related to Innovation Systems. In which a tour of the literature is made, the different techniques used to model and simulate complex systems associated with social dynamics are analyzed, leading authors are identified, institutions with more significant recurrence in the research of this type. Finally, a comparison is made between the different existing techniques for the purpose and, consequently, become a starting point for future research.

This book presents the results of an investigation carried out by the ITM research group, which analyses the different references in the literature on modelling systems and how it relates to innovation systems.
The primary purpose is to identify how simulations can be performed from predictive models that can predict the behaviour of innovation systems. Its results are conclusive and controlled; to date, there are very few scientific works that directly address this problem.
On the other hand, it is also possible to conclude that innovation systems have the fundamental characteristics to be analyzed under the perspective of agent-based modelling and simulation, in this way being able to do different exercises to identify future trends in innovative performance.
